How I Finally Cracked the Buried Bloodline Unlock
Okay so I’ve been banging my head against this Buried Bloodline thing since last year. Saw all these fancy guides claiming “just do this” but nada. Decided to brute-force it myself this week and honestly? These five steps actually made the damn thing pop.
First step – gear check: Grabbed my level 30 rogue gear straight from inventory. Not the shiny new stuff, my basic stealth set. Swapped boots for movement speed, swapped rings for poison resist. Didn’t overthink it like last time.
Second step – trigger the right event: Ran straight to Whispering Grotto at midnight game time. This part’s buggy – moon needs to be exactly above the eastern pillar. Chugged a Night Vision potion (basic alchemy, no fancy ingredients). Saw the purple glow near the dead tree immediately.
Third step – sequence matters: Here’s where I messed up before. You gotta interact with objects in this order:
- Touch the glowing tree roots
- Flip the broken shrine switch (requires 15 strength)
- Let the cutscene finish COMPLETELY before moving
Skipped the shrine thing last attempt. Big mistake.
Fourth step – NPC timing: When Old Man Karras spawned, I didn’t attack. Just sheathed weapons and used /kneel emote. He walked right past me to the ritual circle. Previous tries I killed him instantly – turns out that resets everything.
Final step – blood collection: After Karras started chanting, I quickly stabbed my own character (using the sacrifice knife from starter quest). Health dropped to 15% exactly when the sky turned red. Screen flashed gold – achievement unlocked.
Whole process took 22 minutes from login to unlock. Didn’t need rare items or max stats. Just this exact sequence without rushing. Tried again on alt account – worked twice now. Finally feel like I beat this garbage mechanic.
