The Big Realization (and Panic)
First off, I just… assumed main quest meant the big Calpheon/Valencia storylines. Finished them ages ago. Panic hit – did I miss out? Spent an hour digging through every quest tab, every inventory upgrade note online (well, reading posts). Felt pretty dumb when it clicked.
- It ain’t just one main quest. It’s like… several regional “main” stories.
- Each one kinda wraps up a big chunk of a territory’s plot.
- And yeah, finishing one of these specific arcs usually throws you an inventory slot coupon.
Actually Doing the Work (The Parts I Forgot)
Cuz like I said, my main character did Calpheon, Mediah, Valencia. Totally ignored the newer areas. Felt kinda sheepish. Logged back in, grabbed the character who needed space most – my lifeskiller. Headed straight to Velia. Talked to the main quest giver near the storage keeper. Got the Balenos questline rolling.
Step-by-step I did this:
- Found the Balenos questline starter (the lil exclamation mark icon).
- Spammed R like my life depended on it through all the talking.
- Ran around killing low-level mobs near Velia/Heidel – it felt slow cuz my char’s high level, but the quest progress was instant.
- Kept hitting ‘O’ (quest log) to track it.
- Just followed the glowing yellow icons on the map. No thinking, just running and hitting R.
- Finally, after what felt like maybe an hour (mostly running), Balenos quest arc done.
BOOM. Inventory Expansion Coupon +1 pops into my inventory. Redeemed it right there. One precious slot unlocked. No pearls spent. Feels good.
So… How Much Free Stuff Did I Get Later?
Right, this is the juicy bit you wanna know, yeah? After the initial panic research, I sat down and mapped it out properly for the char who skipped stuff.
From what I personally confirmed doing these questlines later:
- Balenos Story Arc Done: +1 Slot (Just did this, felt great)
- Serendia Story Arc Done: +1 Slot (Did this ages ago on main, remember getting it)
- Calpheon Story Arc Done: +1 Slot (Yep, main char got it)
Couldn’t be bothered to re-run Mediah or Valencia fully right now, but double-checked the notes I found – folks say they give slots too.
Total Potential Freebies? Looks like the big five “starter” regions: Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, Mediah, Valencia each toss you a slot when you finish their main story arc. That’s potentially +5 slots just for playing the core quests across those areas. Didn’t do all five again to prove it, but the track record based on my Balenos run and old memories is solid.
The Catch? Yeah, gotta actually go do the quests. The Balenos one was chill but boring for my level. Can’t imagine running ALL five on a new alt for the slots – painful grind. But if you got a char sitting around that skipped a region or two? Definitely worth the couple hours per region for a permanent slot.
