BG3 Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo stats guide and how to use them well

Alright so today I finally got my hands on these Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo in my Baldur’s Gate 3 run. Heard folks talking about them and figured, hell yeah, gotta try these out myself.

Finding the Damn Things First

First things first, actually grabbing the boots. You gotta head to the Crèche Y’llek, right? Found that weirdo Y’llek out near the mountain pass entrance. Had to trade some other gear I wasn’t using plus a good chunk of gold. Felt pricey, but what the hell, I needed to know what the fuss was about.

Checking Them Out Properly

Opened up my inventory quick. Stats looked like this:

  • Jump Distance Increase: Just having them on, you jump WAY further. Like, suddenly my little halfling bard could almost jump clear across a room.
  • Unarmed Strike Bonus: That’s the kicker – adds your whole Wisdom modifier to unarmed damage rolls. Seriously boosts those punches and kicks.

My bard? Yeah, not exactly a monk. Low Wisdom. So I kinda stood there like an idiot for a sec. Then it hit me – gotta give these to someone who actually hits stuff with their fists! Obvious, right? But hey, I’m slow sometimes.

Handing Them Over to the Punching Expert

Quick march over to Lae’zel. Githyanki warrior lady? Absolutely loves a good fistfight when she’s not swinging her greatsword. Swapped out her old boots for these shiny new Kushigos. Bam! Instantly added her Wisdom modifier to those kicks she loves dishing out. Made a noticeable difference hitting kobolds later – like chunking off extra HP each time.

The Real Trick: Jumping Kicks of Doom

Okay, here’s the golden trick I figured out after a couple tries:

  1. Position Lae’zel somewhere high up. Used the little hill near the tollhouse.
  2. Made her jump down directly onto some poor bandit.
  3. BOOM! Regular jump damage happened.
  4. But WAIT! It also triggered an UNARMED STRIKE because she landed on him!
  5. That unarmed strike got the huge damage boost from the boots!

Essentially, I turned her jump into a double-whammy attack. It’s brutal! Used it later to jump-kick a spellcaster off a roof ledge – so goddamn satisfying.

Making Them Truly Shine

Realized I could push this further:

  • Respecced a bit: Used Withers to bump her Wisdom a little higher. More bonus damage? Yes please.
  • Grabbed the Athlete Feat: Even MORE jump distance? Sign me up. Let her leap across stupidly wide gaps right onto enemy heads.
  • Mobility matters: Pair these with gear that boosts movement speed. Getting into position for a jump kick fast is key.

Watching Lae’zel become this leaping gith missile just smashing down from the sky… that’s the good stuff. Totally changed how I approach fights with her now. Forget swinging a sword half the time; jump-kicking fools is way more fun. Takes a little setup, sure, but damn it’s powerful when you land it right. Works sweet.
