Alright guys, so today I was messing around in-game trying to find those abiotic factor crafting benches everyone’s buzzing about. Total headache at first – spent like two hours running along riverbanks hitting rocks with my pickaxe. Nada. Zip. Zero benches. Figured I might be doing something wrong, so I backtracked and tried coastal zones instead.
Bingo! Found my first bench near this shipwreck at the northeast cove. Had to clear out a pack of those pesky raptors first. Pro tip: bring loads of ammo or tame a decent dino bodyguard. Bench was wedged between rusty cargo containers – almost missed it. Interacted with it using standard crafting button, dumped my stones and metal in the slots, cooked up some polymer like pizza in a microwave.
Other Hotspots I Unlocked Later
- Underground Ice Cave near the frozen peaks – froze my butt off but benches are everywhere in there
- Volcanic sulfur fields – wear hazard suit! Bench hides behind steam vents
- Deep ocean trenches – nearly drowned twice. Bring scuba gear or underwater dino
Key thing I learned? These benches hate processed materials. Tried feeding one electronics – got sparks and smoke like a busted toaster. Stick to raw elements: stones, sulfur crystals, coral chunks. Also bench access vanishes during sandstorms/blizzards so check weather timers.
Biggest lightbulb moment? These benches don’t just craft – upgraded my tier 3 tools to tier 4 using obsidian shards! Now I’m farming rare materials five times faster. Totally worth nearly getting eaten by that mutated eel.
