Pokemon Legends Z Mega Clefable Fairy Flying Type Good or Bad Heres the Truth

Alright so today I decided to test out that new Mega Clefable in Pokemon Legends Z. Fairy and Flying? Sounded kinda wild, right? Wanted to see for myself if it was actually good or just gonna suck. Buckle up.

First Steps – Getting My Hands Dirty

First thing, I needed the Clefable to Mega Evolve. Grinded out some Fairy-type Tera Raids until I finally snagged the Mega Stone. Took longer than I thought, felt like forever clicking through battles. Finally got it though! Slapped that stone onto my Clefable. Time for the real fun.

Loaded up the game’s battle simulator. Figured I’d start simple – just see how Clefable feels as Fairy/Flying Mega before throwing it against tough opponents. Base Clefable is pure Fairy, yeah? This Mega change flips its wings out and adds that Flying type. Big visual change, kinda cool looking honestly.

Testing the Typing Punch

Okay, first test: strengths. Threw out my Mega Clefable against a Dragon type. Boom! Fairy STAB wiped the floor with it, as expected. Felt powerful. Then tried a Fighting type. Boom again! That new Flying STAB made Quick Attack hit way harder. So far, so good. Double STAB advantage felt nice.

But then… oh man. I sent it against a Poison type. Bad idea. One Sludge Bomb came flying in. Mega Clefable just crumpled. Like, health bar vanished in a blink. Freaked me out! Forgot how bad Poison hits Fairy/Flying. Steel types? Forget about it. Tried taking a Bullet Punch… nearly got one-shotted. Its defenses are okay, but not amazing. That typing leaves it real open in some scary ways.

Moveset Tinkering

So I messed around with its moves. Wanted to cover weaknesses better. Stuck with Moonblast for sure – gotta have that Fairy nuke. Also used:

  • Flamethrower (to scare off Steel types)
  • Soft-Boiled (for healing, gotta survive somehow!)
  • Dazzling Gleam (nice AoE option)

Tried Air Slash too, that Flying STAB is tempting. But honestly? It missed hitting hard enough against stuff it should counter. Kinda underwhelming without stat boosts. And boosting felt risky because of the frailty.

The Big Picture Reveal

Played a bunch more matches, against different team comps. Here’s the raw truth I saw:

  • Good Stuff: Awesome against Dragons and Fightings. Hits decently hard. Looks cool. Magic Guard prevents annoying poison or burn chip which rocks.
  • Bad Stuff: That Poison weakness? Brutal. Steel weakness sucks too. Rocks from Stealth Rock? Took like 25% every switch-in! Its speed isn’t stellar, so fast Electrics or anything packing Poison/Steel moves wrecked it before I could react. Kinda forced me to build my whole team around protecting it.

So yeah, after all that testing and nearly throwing my controller a couple times when Clefable folded to a surprise Poison Jab… my take? Mega Clefable as Fairy/Flying is… okay? Situational.

Feels like you need to REALLY know what you’re doing. Can’t just slap it on any team. Needs serious support to handle its new, kinda wobbly typing. Against the right opponent, it shines bright. Against the wrong one? Poof, gone like dust in the wind. Fun to try? Yeah. Top tier must-have? Nah.
