Jumping Into Smite 2 Beta
Heard Smite 2 open beta dropped today and it’s free, so I grabbed my coffee and clicked that download button fast. My internet’s kinda slow, took like 40 minutes watching that progress bar crawl. Made a sandwich while waiting. Finally heard that ping sound when it finished.
Logged in quick and spotted those new gods flashing on the character screen. Saw Vulcan first – big dude with a hammer looking like a blacksmith. Figured he’s probably tanky. Then saw Hun Batz with them glowing claws bouncing around. Monke god vibes.
First Match With Vulcan
Clicked Vulcan to try him. Loaded into Arena mode cause I ain’t messing with conquest yet. His abilities confused me at first:
- His turret thing looked like a little toy cannon – plopped it down near minions
- Fireball was slower than I thought – kept missing moving targets
- Ultimate meteor strike takes FOR-EV-ER to land
Died 3 times figuring out the timing. But man, when his combos hit? Felt like a fireworks show melting enemy health bars. His passive building extra damage after using abilities is dope.
Switching To Hun Batz
Next game picked Hun Batz cause I wanted mobility. This crazy monke zooms around like he’s on 10 energy drinks. Messed up his jump thing at first – landed in the middle of 3 enemies and got smacked. But when I got his rhythm:
- His clone trick is straight dirty – fakes out enemies every time
- Teleport punch feels unfair when you escape low health
- Ultimate monkey madness makes everyone run like chickens
Stole 3 kills just by throwing my monkey clone at people running away. Best moment? Jumping over a wall, dropping ult behind their team to help us win team fight.
Wrap-up Thoughts
Beta still feels rough around edges – textures pop in weird sometimes and got disconnected once. But Vulcan’s artillery play and Hun Batz’s chaotic energy are both stupid fun. Gonna grind more matches tonight to see if Vulcan turret builds actually work. Maybe try jungle with monke later. Beta’s free so zero reasons not to test drive these gods yourself.
