What exactly is Diablo 3’s “invisible weapon” for monks?

If you’ve been playing Diablo 3 lately, you’ve probably heard about the new “invisible weapon”.Especially since the game was updated to version 2.7.1, this profession – or “Monk” as we call it – has become particularly popular in the PTR.

The question is: “What exactly is the Monk’s intangible weapon?”Is it worth practicing in the new season?Today, we’re going to talk about it.

What is an invisible weapon?

First of all, “invisible weapon” is actually a special equipment. They are not ordinary blue or yellow equipment, but a legendary weapon with two powerful attributes. They can only be used by Martial Monks and cannot be traded or upgraded, but their performance is very strong.

Currently, Martial Monks have three invisible weapons to choose from:

  1. Jasper Claw
  2. Shadow Slayer (also known as Phantom Slayer)
  3. Batuk’s Slam (also known as Batuk’s Cutthroat Claw)

Each of these three weapons has its own characteristics, but from actual experience, the difference between them isn’t particularly large. With the right special effects, either one can fight well.

invisible weapon

What’s so special about these weapons?

Each invisible weapon comes with two random legendary effects. One of them is chosen from these powerful skill effects below:

  • Attacks have a chance to double your attack speed (this is the Shoryuken effect).
  • The deathblast damage of Explosive Palm is increased by 400%-500% (this is “Fist of Azturask”).
  • The Seven Phases Fist will hit 7 additional attacks.
  • When you kill a group of Elites, the cooldown is reduced by 8-10 seconds for 15 seconds (this is “Tora’s Sword”).
  • Golden Bell Damage is increased by 150%, and if the initial attack hits 3 or fewer enemies, the damage is increased by 200%-250% (this is Kyoshiro’s Blade).
  • Seven Phase Fist increases damage by 100% and reduces cooldown by 45%-60% (this is “Eternal Gohan”)
  • Using a teleportation skill that consumes internal energy while in the state of Eternal Gnosis will also allow you to attack a distant target for free.
  • Golden Bell Break halves internal energy consumption and increases damage by 450%-550%.
  • Wind and Thunder Rush increases damage by 450%-600%, and when hitting 3 or fewer enemies, the bludgeon rate becomes 100% (this is Balance).
  • Killing an enemy puts you into a berserk rage.
  • Killing an enemy reduces a skill’s cooldown by 1 second.
  • Increase the maximum number of Wind Fury layers by 10, increasing damage by 600%-800%.
  • Hurricane Break is activated after hitting an enemy with Wind Thunderbolt, and the damage of both skills is increased by 500%-600% (this is “Bridge of Clouds”).

The second legendary effect is a randomized selection of one of the 18 passive skills of the Monk.

So you see, although this weapon can’t be enhanced, the attributes it comes with are already very strong. As long as you’re lucky and swipe the special effect that suits your playstyle, you can just take it and use it.

Does each weapon have the same attributes?

Although all three weapons are invisible weapons, their basic attributes and additional effects are still a bit different.Let’s take a look at each of them below.

Jasper Claw

1. Jasper Claw

This weapon is considered one of the more comprehensive ones. Its main attributes include:

  • Increases attack damage by 75%-100%.
  • It comes with a certain range of physical damage
  • Increased resistance by 110-130 points.
  • Restores life after hitting an enemy (value is between 20271-23950)
  • Agility attribute increased by 825-1000 points
  • Increases the damage of all Monk skills by 100%.
  • No durability loss due to use
  • 5-7 points of internal energy are restored with every critical hit.
  • Cooldown time of skills is reduced by 7-10%.
  • Attack speed will be increased by up to 30% for 3 seconds after hitting an enemy multiple times.

As you can see, the Jasper Claw is an offensive and defensive weapon, suitable for most genres.

Shadow Slayer

2. Shadow Slayer (Phantom Slayer)

This weapon is characterized by its flexibility and is suitable for players who like to play with control or fast output. Its attributes are as follows:

  • Attack damage increase by 75%-100%
  • Increase Agility attribute by 825-1000 points
  • Restores life value after hitting an enemy (20271-23950)
  • Self-imposed physical damage at a certain range
  • Increase damage of all skills of Monk by 100%
  • Skill cooldown time reduced by 7%-10
  • Energy consumption is reduced by 8%-10%.
  • Returns 5-7 points of internal energy for each critical hit.
  • 1%-5.1% chance of freezing enemies
  • No durability loss due to use

Shadow Slayer’s best feature is the reduced energy consumption, and with the freeze probability, it’s perfect for playstyles that require frequent skill releases.

Batuk's Slam

3. Batuk’s Slam (Batuk’s Cutthroat Claw)

This weapon favors high burst and survivability, suitable for players who pursue extreme output. Its attributes are as follows:

  • Attack damage increased by 75%-100%
  • Blitz chance increased by 7%-10%.
  • Physical damage from a certain range
  • Restores life value after hitting an enemy (20271-23950)
  • Increases strength and agility by 946-1125 points each.
  • No durability loss due to use
  • Increases the damage of all monk skills by 100%.

This weapon doesn’t have as many secondary attributes as the first two, but its bludgeoning and dual attribute bonuses make it more suitable for the violent output school.

Why does the +100% damage on these weapons seem exaggerated?

Many people see the +100% damage of these weapons and think, “Wow, so strong!”But in fact, this value is not as impressive as it seems. This is because these weapons do not have any other attack bonuses, such as “damage per second” or “base attack power”.

In other words, the +100% damage is meant to bring the weapon’s actual output closer to that of an ancient or ancient one-handed weapon. In other words, it’s just a way to keep the weapon from being worse than a normal weapon.

Summarize.

Each of these three intangible weapons has its own specialty, and you can choose them according to the genre you want to play:

  • If you like an all-around character, go for Jasper Claw
  • If you want to play fast and control your enemies, go for Shadow Slayer.
  • If you are a player who seeks for extreme output, then Batik’s Slam might be your first choice!

Overall, before the start of the new season, if you plan to practice Wushu Monk, it is recommended that you first understand clearly which playing style you want, and then go to brush the corresponding intangible weapons. After all, once these types of weapons are brushed with the right special effects, they can be used straight away, without the need to slowly develop the equipment.
