Getting Started with That NBA 2K15 Update
You know how it is. Got that itch to play some vintage NBA 2K15 on my old gaming rig last week. Fired it up, all excited, only to see this annoying pop-up about “Update 2 Reloaded” needing to be installed. The game felt kinda off without it. Searched around everywhere, checked the usual places like the store where I got it ages ago, nothing. Official route was dead.
Totally stubborn, I wasn’t giving up. Typed “NBA 2K15 Reloaded Update 2 free download” straight into the search bar. Yeah, I know, total gray area stuff. Loads of junk websites popped up, flashing like crazy, demanding me to sign up or click on weird buttons promising “download now”. Pure nightmare fuel. Almost got discouraged.
Finally landed on this one page that seemed less dodgy. Simple page, no crazy flashing. Saw a big green button saying “DOWNLOAD GENERATOR BYPASS TOOL” – sounded super technical, right? Honestly, had zero clue what a “generator” even meant here. But hey, desperate times. Clicked it.
My Nervous Download & Install Process
This ZIP file started downloading. Tiny thing, maybe like 15MB. My old anti-virus immediately started yelling bloody murder! Big red warning flashing: “HEY STOP! THIS LOOKS SUPER DUPER ILLEGAL AND PROBABLY A VIRUS!” Felt my heart racing a bit. Had to force myself to pause the anti-virus shields completely. Sketchy move, I know.
Unzipped the file. Inside was this one single file: NBA2K15_Update2_*. Double-clicked that bad boy. Windows Defender threw another fit, basically screaming “THIS IS REALLY REALLY DANGEROUS!”. Sweat was beading. Had to override it too, clicking “Run Anyway”. Feels like poking a bear sometimes doing this.
A basic installer window popped up. Super old-school looking, not fancy at all. Just asked where I wanted it installed. Pointed it directly to my main NBA 2K15 game folder – you know, C:GamesNBA 2K15. Selected that path. Told it to install. Held my breath.
Nothing happened for like 10 seconds. Silence. Started wondering if I just bricked my whole PC. Then… boom! The installer finally came alive! Saw a progress bar zip across really quickly. Only took maybe 20 seconds. Said “Installation Complete”. Just shut down afterwards. Barely any feedback.
Holding My Breath & Launching the Game
Okay, moment of truth. Clicked the NBA 2K15 shortcut on my desktop again. Crossed my fingers big time. Hoping it wasn’t all corrupted junk.
The game loaded! Seemed a bit quicker actually. Got past the initial splash screens. Lo and behold… no more annoying pop-up demanding that update! Jumped straight into an exhibition game. Game felt slightly smoother? Could have been placebo effect, hard to tell. Important thing is: it worked! Didn’t crash. No weird glitches.
Massive relief washed over me. Got the update installed, game’s running fine. That download site actually delivered this time. Dodged the anti-virus warnings successfully. Feel pretty lucky honestly. Would I recommend this crazy process? Not really. It’s walking on thin ice man. But hey, it worked for me, this time around. Wouldn’t mess with it on my main PC though.
