The Disaster Attempts First
Thought I was smart slapping that Jah into a crappy Phase Blade I had lying around. Made a “Dragon” runeword thing. Looked cool for maybe five seconds. Teleported straight into a mob of Frenzytaurs in Hell Act 5. Got smashed. Hard. Back to stash, thinking real hard.
Tried putting it in a fancy armor for my Paladin. “Stone” something? Made him tough as rocks. Problem? He hit like wet paper towel. Clearing Worldstone Keep took forever. Felt like watching grass grow. Died to a pack of gloams because the damage just wasn’t there.
Finally Cracked It: Fury Werewolf
Scrapped the paladin idea. Dug out my Druid, dusty from last ladder. Remembered reading whispers about a Fury build using that Jah for raw power.
Here’s what clicked:
- Weapon: That Jah needed a better home. Slammed it into a decent ethereal Ghost Spear I kept “just in case.” Made a “Breath of the Dying”. Felt weird naming a weapon that. But holy smokes, the stats.
- Armor: Ditched the “Stone” mistake. Went cheap and cheerful with a “Duress” in a decent base. Needed the crushing blow.
- Helm: Found a Jalal’s Mane ages ago. Dusted it off. Done.
- Skills: Maxed Fury first. Obviously. Then Lycanthropy for longer wolf time and more life. Threw points into Oak Sage for survival. Rest into Feral Rage – lifesteal and speed? Yes please.
Watching the Beast Unfold
Transformed. Clicked Feral Rage on the first Fallen I saw in Blood Moor. Zooooom. Felt like a blender on caffeine. Fury tore through packs like butter. That life steal? Insane. Barely touched a health pot. Teleported straight to Baal with a buddy’s help (still hate finding organs).
Saw the minions? Gone. Saw Baal? Melted faster than my ice cream on a summer day. The raw physical damage from BOTD plus Fury’s speed, fueled by that precious Jah… pure destruction.
Stash Raid Reality Check
This build chews up repair gold like candy because of BOTD’s repair cost. Gotta save those Ort runes! Also needs decent resist charms since Duress doesn’t cover everything.
It ain’t subtle. It’s loud, expensive to keep running, and attracts every monster on screen. But if you wanna see big numbers fly and things disappear before they touch you? This Jah rune found its home. Frustrating journey, but seeing that wolf tear through Hell? Totally worth almost rage-quitting earlier. Just maybe… skip the fancy Dragon idea next time.
