BG3 build planner not working? Fix common problems here!

That Annoying Build Planner Glitch!

So, fired up Baldur’s Gate 3 yesterday, itching to try out this fancy barbarian-druid multiclass idea brewing in my head. Went straight for the awesome online build planner tool everyone raves about… and bam. Hit a wall.

First thing I saw? Just a blank page. Total nothing burger. Browser tab spinning like crazy, but zip. Nada. Was it my connection? Switched browsers – same exact story. Chrome, Firefox, even tried Edge (desperation move). Just sat there like a lump. Pretty frustrating when you’ve got build ideas burning a hole in your brain, right?

Okay, Time to Actually Try Fixing This

Decided I wasn’t gonna let a stupid tool ruin my fun. Started poking around:

BG3 build planner not working? Fix common problems here!

  • Step one: Did the easiest thing – closed the browser entirely. Waited a few seconds. Relaunched. Typed the planner’s address again carefully… Still broken. Felt dumb, but you gotta check.
  • Step two: Hit the nuclear option: cleared my browser cache and cookies. A million tabs screamed about lost logins, but hey, sacrifices. Reloaded the planner… Nope. Still staring at emptiness.
  • Step three: Got suspicious about my mods. Recently went wild trying out some character creation overhauls. Switched off all mods using BG3 Mod Manager. Fired the game up vanilla… launched the planner… FINALLY! The menus loaded! The planner itself was still acting kinda sluggish though.
  • Step four (still annoyed): Realized maybe my antivirus was being overeager. Went into its settings (took forever to find the right screen, these things hide it well). Added the build planner site as an exception. Reloaded. Couldn’t swear it was instant magic, but things felt… smoother? Hard to tell, but I left it allowed.

My Plan Worked… Mostly

After that mess, the planner did work. Was able to drag and drop classes, fiddle with stats, see my abomination of a build start to shape up. Still felt a bit slow sometimes, like it needed a second coffee, but it functioned.

The big takeaway for me? Mod conflicts are killer. Something I hadn’t even thought would touch an online tool totally bricked it. Disabling everything got me back in the game. Annoying? Yeah, absolutely. Fixable? Also yes, just gotta be thorough and eliminate things one by one, starting with mods. Saved myself a whole evening of banging my head on the keyboard!
