So I finally decided to tackle the Chamber of Courage in Baldur’s Gate 3 last night. Heard rumors about insane loot there but couldn’t find decent guides that weren’t just lists. Grabbed my party – Shadowheart tanking, Gale for magic, Astarion being sneaky, and my warlock slinging eldritch blasts. Figured we could handle anything.
Getting inside was a headache
Had to drag my team through those cursed shadowlands first. Almost lost Gale to shadow wraiths near the entrance. Reloaded twice before I remembered having light spells. Threw daylight on Shadowheart’s shield like a damn lighthouse – made those wraiths bolt immediately.
The actual chamber puzzles
First trial made me laugh – just step on pressure plates in order. Child’s play. Second trial sucked though. That mirror puzzle where you fight your doppelganger? Mine spammed hunger of Hadar constantly. Wiped three times till I cheesed it by hiding behind pillars while Astarion picked them off with arrows.

Biggest loot surprises:
- That freaking spear – dropped from the last guardian. Called Soulbreaker or something. Hits like a truck AND drains health. Immediately took it from Shadowheart for my warlock
- Gloves of Thievery – Astarion became lockpick god with these. No more broken thieves tools!
- Amulet of Misty Step – Basically lets Gale teleport constantly. Made positioning jokes in combat
Was it worth the hassle?
Hell yes. That spear alone justifies five reloads. Almost missed the glowing chest behind the altar though – nearly walked out before Astarion spotted it. Inside was trash loot EXCEPT those gloves. Pro tip: explore every pixel after fights.
Spent next hour testing gear combinations. Swapped Gale’s amulet to Shadowheart so she could bail when surrounded. Let Astarion pickpocket every vendor in Last Light Inn. Total game changer for act two. Died to Ketheric later but that’s another story…
