Alright folks, buckle up. You know me, I gotta try these ‘easy upgrade’ guides people throw around for Diablo 4, especially for my beloved Crusader build. I saw that ‘Cruiser embrace Diablo 4 tips (easy ways to upgrade its power)’ headline floating around and figured, why not? Let’s see if it holds water.
So first things first, I logged in. My Crusader, right? Standing there in Kyovashad looking a bit underpowered compared to those monsters zooming past me in World Tier 4. Felt kinda sluggish, you know? Needed that oomph back.
The guide mumbled something about “efficient farming”. Vague. Typical. Decided to start simple: Nightmare Dungeons. Chose one of those new season thingies, Blood something or other. Jumped in. Focused hard on smashing every Elite pack I could find. Boom, boom, boom. Dumped all those shiny sigils into the Occultist. Wanted a nice two-handed mace upgrade. Clicked that ‘Upgrade’ button again and again. Mostly garbage rolls. One decent Sacred item popped out, but it was barely better than what I had. Felt like a waste of time, honestly.
Okay, plan B. Remembered whispers about “target farming gear with Obals”. Headed straight to the Purveyor. Gamble time! Blew through thousands of Obals just focusing on Gloves. Why? Because the guide said maybe I could fish for some crazy Aspect synergy. What did I get? Pile of junk Legendaries with stats totally wrong for my build. Like, Intellect on Crusader gloves? Come on! Wallet felt lighter, spirits sunk lower.
Getting kinda annoyed now. This “easy upgrade” thing wasn’t feeling easy. Remembered the guide mentioned Helltides. Decided to give it one last shot before calling it quits. Portaled into the zone. Death everywhere, as usual. Managed to scrape together about 275 Aberrant Cinders through sheer stubbornness. Dashed to a Tortured Chest of Protection, hoping for some beefy defense.
Spent the Cinders. Chest pops open. Guess what? Two Legendary helms. Not terrible, but again, not the huge upgrade I was chasing. The stats were… okay. Better than the trash from gambling, I suppose. But was I swimming in power? Heck no.
After that whole session, this is where I landed:
- Nightmare Dungeon spamming gave me maybe one incremental upgrade after burning a bunch of sigils. Meh.
- Obal gambling felt like throwing resources into a black hole. Just avoid unless you’re swimming in the stuff and bored.
- Helltide chests? Consistent at least. Got usable items, just not game-changers.
The real takeaway? There ain’t no true magic “easy button”. Gotta grind either way. The guide had some okay starting points – Nightmare Dungeons can work eventually, Helltides are decent for steady loot flow – but it totally oversold the “easy power spike” dream. The jump I wanted just didn’t happen overnight. Back to the boring ol’ grind tomorrow. Maybe I’ll get lucky with a world boss drop.
