Okay so lemme tell ya how I bashed my head against these Kehjistan strongholds in Diablo 4 yesterday. Total pain at first, felt like running in circles. Wanted that renown fast, you know? But I figured it out.
Where I Started (Getting Smacked Around)
Jumped into Alcarnus first, totally unprepared. Ran in like an idiot, just hacking at stuff. Those sorcerer dudes? Annoying as heck. Teleported all over, blasted me with fire. Died. Twice. Embarrassing. Remembered I gotta actually pay attention, like click on those braziers the game keeps shouting about.
Got my act together, cleared the trash mobs carefully. Found the braziers – okay, three clicks. Easy. Then that big boss dude pops up. Hit harder than a truck. Took a few tries, gotta dodge his smashy attack. Finally dropped him. Bam, Alcarnus done. Whew.
Shuffling Over to Altar of Ruin
Next up, Altar of Ruin. Thought it might be easier. Nope. Wrong again. Kept chasing after that anima carrier dude. Ran all over the dang place while he just… wandered? Felt forever. Every monster pack along the way slowed me down. Finally caught him near the center.
Then the real fun began. Protecting the captured girl? Waves of angry ghosts and skeletons just wouldn’t quit. Spawned from every direction. My cleave skill barely kept up. Barely kept her alive. Felt tense, man. She makes it, suddenly it’s boss time.
That ghost boss. Throws stuff, spawns adds. Had to constantly move, focus him down between dodges. Took a couple attempts. Felt good seeing that place glow afterwards.
The Last Grind: Omath’s Redoubt
Alright, last one. Omath’s Redoubt. Huge area. Headed straight for that glowing structure, thinking it was the key. Started clicking those corrupted anvil-looking things. Felt like clicking dozens. So. Many. Mobs guarding them too. Just tedious slogging.
Done clicking? Big boss time. This demon? Mean. Really mean. Does that big stompy circle attack that hurts like crazy. Swipe attacks, the works. Messed up dodging once – nearly got one-shot. Kited him around like crazy, potions on cooldown constantly. Finally whittled him down. Victory! Whole place turned peaceful. Such a relief.
What I Learned (The Hard Way)
- Don’t just Charge In: Got wrecked twice learning this. Scope out the layout first.
- Do the Damn Objective: Seriously, the braziers, the carrier, the anvils? Just do ’em. Don’t wander like I did.
- Bring Crowd Control: Skills that hit lotsa stuff or slow things down saved my bacon protecting that girl.
- Bosses Demand Respect: Tanking hits? Not smart. Move, dodge, learn the patterns. Chug potions like water.
- Do Em Back-to-Back: Once I got the rhythm, doing them one after another saved time. No point hopping zones.
Overall? Rough start, kinda miserable in the middle, felt awesome by the end. Got my renown, opened up some waypoints. Not doing that again anytime soon without prepping better! Hope this saves someone else the headache I had.
