Alright, figured I’d finally sit down and sort out this whole Primary Resource mess for Diablo 4 Season 7. Gotta admit, each class handles its fuel differently, and sometimes I lose track of what does what when swapping characters. Today was all about breaking that down for myself.
Starting With The Obvious: Barbarian
First up, gotta check the big guy. Jumped into my level 80 Barb. Slammed some demons, did a Shout, watched that little red icon under my health bar. It’s Fury, plain and simple. Always has been. Smashing things builds it, heavy attacks spend it. Feels straightforward compared to some others.
Then My Sorceress
Logged over to my Sorc next. Doing some Lightning Spears. Looked under her health… no red icon this time, it’s blue! Mana. Kinda classic wizard feel. Casting spells spends it down, some basic attacks or passives help tick it back up. Feels slower to refill than Fury sometimes, gotta manage those big casts.
Rogue Time
Took the Rogue for a spin. Running around fast, shadow stepping, throwing knives. Glanced down… another blue one? Energy! Different name, but acts like the Sorc’s Mana pool for Rogue skills. Combo Points build on top of this Energy pool for big finishers, but the main tank underneath? Energy. Took a sec to spot it.
The Druid Puzzle
My Druid always confuses me. Loaded him up near some werewolf action. Looked for the resource… Yellow? Or was it green? Definitely not red or blue. Ah, Spirit! Different color entirely. Earth or Storm skills spend it, basic animal attacks build it back fast. This one feels chunkier to build than Barb Fury.
Big Necro Energy
Last one, my bone-armor loving Necro. Hopped in, raised a couple skeletons, aimed a Bone Spear… Where’s the resource? Scanned… Nothing where Barb has Fury, Druid has Spirit. Seriously? Then I saw it – Corpses! Or… Essence? Under the health bar, a purple-ish pool. Essence! Corpses on the ground are like batteries he can suck dry for more Essence to blow stuff up. Skeletons don’t cost this main resource though, they need Corpses directly to summon. Totally unique.
Putting It Together
So, after running around Sanctuary like a headless chicken checking health bars, here’s the dirt:
- Barbarian: Smash to build Red Fury. Big attacks spend it.
- Sorceress: Cast spells spending Blue Mana. Basics/talents regen it.
- Rogue: Skills use Blue Energy. Combo Points are extra on top.
- Druid: Shape-shifting basics build Green/Yellow Spirit. Earth/Storm spend it.
- Necromancer: Corpses juice up Purple Essence. Big spells drink it. Skeletons eat corpses directly.
Makes way more sense when you see it laid out for each one. Now I won’t forget what I’m spending when I switch characters. Guess that’s it for today’s basic breakdown session!
