Alright so this week I really wanted to test drive the new Spiritborn class everyone’s buzzing about. Heard whispers of some insanely quick leveling builds floating around, especially one tied to Icy Veins. Naturally, I rolled up my sleeves, brewed a massive pot of coffee, and parked myself in front of the PC for some serious grinding.

First step was staring down the skill selection screen. New class, new headaches, right? I totally blanked for a solid five minutes. The “quick leveling” tip whispered something about poison and tornadoes. Okay, poison sounded sneaky, tornadoes sounded cool. I dumped my first few points into Wind Shear – gotta have that basic attack maxed out fast. Then I grabbed Hindering Toxin early. Figured slowing mobs down while whacking ’em sounded smart.

Game time. Logged in, grabbed my stick (or whatever those Spiritborn weapons are called) and dove into the fray. Spammed Wind Shear like my life depended on it. Honestly felt kinda slow at first. Felt like I was whacking flies with a noodle. Then ding! Level 3. Unlocked Trail of Ruin. Okay, THIS was more like it! Dash forward, leave a poison trail? Hell yes. Suddenly, I could zip through groups, poison trailing behind me while they choked and died. Sweet! Kept pumping points into this beauty.

Reached level 10. Big boy skills time. Saw Verdant Renewal on that Icy build snippet. Tried it. Hated it. Big heal thing when you stand still? Standing still in Diablo? Nah, mate. That felt like suicide waiting to happen. Respec’d those points faster than you can say “ouch”. Put ’em into stuff that actually helped while moving – more poison damage, faster dashes. Much better.

By level 20, the pattern was clear: Dash like a maniac using Trail of Ruin, leave trails of nasty poison everywhere. Pop Razor Spine (those bouncing poison blades) into crowds. Basic attack anything left standing. Rinse and repeat. It felt… stupidly quick. Especially in those tight dungeon corridors. Zoom-zoom, poison cloud, dead mobs, next room. XP bar was chunking up like crazy.

Key lesson learned the hard way? Don’t sweat the defensive stuff too early. You’re aiming to kill fast and move faster. Getting bogged down trying to facetank stuff just slows the entire leveling rush. Kite, poison, and let the DOTs melt everything while you’re already heading to the next pack. Made the slog from 1-50 feel way smoother than some other classes I’ve tried.

Final verdict? It ain’t fancy, but damn it gets the job done quick. That Trail of Ruin spam + poison synergy is pure leveling gold for Spiritborn. Forget the weird trap/heal skills early on. Just dash, poison, kill, repeat. Hit 50 feeling like I barely broke a sweat.
