So the other night I’m grinding away in Sanctuary, right? Doing some random rifts when my buddy shouts over voice chat: “Yo, you got terror keys ready? Event starts soon!” And I’m sitting there like… terror keys? What keys? Didn’t have a clue. Felt like an idiot. Again.
Turns out half my problem unlocking special events was ignoring those damn keyset drops completely. Went digging into my bag and saw this mess:
- Five Forgotten Souls. Okay, cool, useful.
- Three Leoric Regrets. Why? Dunno.
- ONE Screaming Demon Key. Huh. One. Just sitting there. Didn’t even remember picking it up.
So I started tracking every key drop like a hawk. Ran the same terror zone near Gea Kul like twenty times yesterday. Was boring as hell. Watched my keycount slowly climb:
First run: zero keys. Typical. Third run: one Shadow Key. Got kinda excited, honestly. Sixth run: another Shadow AND a Burning key. Jackpot? More like pocket change. By run fifteen I had three Shadows, two Screaming Demons, and one measly Burning Key. Took forever. My brain felt mushy. But hey, keys in the bag.
Then tonight, surprise surprise – event pops up demanding three Burning Keys. Had one. Just one. Panic time. Asked the clan, “Anyone got extra Burning Keys? Trade?” Radio silence. Figured it out myself real quick: swapped two Shadow keys to Jinx for one Burning Key. Then gave Aris my last Screaming Demon plus ten forgotten souls for another Burning. Felt like highway robbery, but whatever. Got three Burning in hand just before the event started.
Slammed those keys into the obelisk faster than you can say “hellspawn.” Boom. Instant access. Ran the event twice, got loot that made the whole boring grind actually worth it. Point is? Those random key drops ain’t just trash. Forget ’em, and you’re stuck begging for scraps when it matters. Track ’em, swap ’em early, or get ready to sit outside the party staring through the window. Simple as that.
