Alright so last week I fired up COD Black Ops 6 Warzone, right? Jumped straight into the new season hype, ready to flex some fresh gear. Then boom – saw these slick seasonal operator skins and weapon blueprints locked tight behind seasonal challenges. Thought, “Easy win,” figured I’d just grind a couple casual games.
Nah. Screwed around in Quads for like an hour, mostly getting fragged near Hot Spots. Checked my seasonal progression bar afterwards… barely moved. Pissed me off. Decided to actually read the dang unlock requirements. Went into the Challenges menu – that tiny tab buried under three layers of UI? Found it.
Here’s what clicked:
- Weekly Challenges are KEY. Each week drops 5-10 specific tasks tied directly to seasonal XP.
- Forget just playing BR. Many challenges demand specific game modes. Like the one asking for point blank shotgun kills? Jumped into Team Deathmatch – way easier to hunt those close fights in corridors.
- Others require certain kills or actions WITH seasonal equipment. Took me forever to realize “Eliminate 3 operators using Reactive Gas Grenades” meant I had to physically FIND and USE that exact grenade, not just any lethal.
Actually planned my session. Loaded into Plunder with the Reactive Gas Grenade selected. Hunted supply boxes, ignoring firefights. Found two grenades, then aggressively pushed enemy teams near buy stations. Got one kill before bleeding out. Rinse, repeat. Slow, boring AF, but that challenge ticked off after a few matches.
Biggest trap? Assuming all playlists count equally. Weekly challenges tagged “Multiplayer”? Those WON’T progress in Warzone BR modes. Wasted 30 minutes trying to get pistol kills in BR only to see zero progress. Switched to 12v12 Moshpit and knocked it out in one round.
Endgame? Unlocked that sweet seasonal SMG blueprint yesterday. Took:
- Focusing ONLY on active Weekly Challenges visible in the menu
- Playing the exact mode specified (MP for MP challenges, WZ for WZ)
- Using the required seasonal items if mentioned
- Checking progress after EVERY match
Not glamorous. Not fun sometimes. But effective. It’s just pure, mindless task completion. Seasonal items are easy, just painfully time-consuming if you don’t target the chores directly.
