Alright so listen up, I was chasing this dumb Executioner Aspect yesterday in D4. Another “fast location guide” my foot. Took ages. Figured I’d write down exactly how it went down, the messy way.
The Wild Goose Chase Begins
Started off feeling cocky. Saw a post screaming “FAST LOCATION!” about Executioner. Thought “Pfft, easy”. Logged into my Barb, slapped down a waypoint in Kehjistan. Heard it dropped from some guy named Executioner Glyst crawling around that big Dry Steppes-looking area on the map, right? Decided to start stomping around the Dilapidated Aqueducts dungeon. Seemed like a likely hole for an executioner to hide.
Big mistake.
- Step 1: Running like a headless chicken. Just sprinted through the dungeon corridors. Emptied my fury bar on every single skeleton and goatman dumb enough to look my way. Cleared the whole darn place. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Opened my inventory full of useless yellows and blues. WEPT.
- Step 2: Questioning my life choices. Thought maybe I killed the boss too fast? Didn’t see the name? Went back. Nope. Just regular dungeon boss trash. Felt dumb.
- Step 3: Actually opening the stupid map. Okay, okay. Deep breaths. Maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t in a dungeon? Looked closer at Kehjistan’s overworld. Remembered whispers about Alcarnus, that weird magic town overrun by snakes and cultists. Fine. Portaled out, ran east towards that fiery pit.
The Actual Find (Finally)
This part sucked too. Alcarnus is a mess. Snakes popping out of fire pits, cultists throwing lightning. Died once. Got salty. But then, near the back end of the town ruins, close to the eastern cliffs? Bingo. Saw a big, ugly, horned dude swinging a giant axe. Big red health bar screamed Executioner Glyst. About time!
Smacked him down. Felt good after the runaround. He dropped… drumroll please… a legendary two-handed sword. Not the aspect I needed. Typical. But here’s the kicker:
- It wasn’t the drop. The aspect unlock comes from beating him, dummy me. Opened the Codex menu under Offensive Aspects later, and there it was: Executioner Aspect, ready to slap on gear! The guide said “get this fast”. HAH. Fast after getting lost for an hour maybe. Facepalmed hard.
So yeah. That was my brilliant journey to the “fast” Executioner location. Ran around like a moron, died to snakes, got garbage drops, but hey – the codex unlocked in the end. Moral of the story? Double-check if it’s a codex unlock or random drop before you waste your afternoon. Maybe I should play less…
