Fortnite Season 3 Supernova Gear Guide: How to Use Best Powers!

Alright let’s get straight into this Season 3 Supernova grind. Figured I needed to really bang my head against the new superpowers this week, so grabbed my controller and jumped in.

Getting My Butt Kicked Trying Powers

Hopped into my first match thinking, “Cool, superpowers, how hard can it be?” Boy, was I wrong. Grabbed the “Tactical Auto Shotgun” thingamajig power first. Figured I’d just blast folks like old times. Wrong move. Tried using it mid-fight near Frenzy Fields – totally fumbled, got wiped by some dude with a basic pistol. Seriously. Felt like the power was fighting me, slowing me down.

Next match, saw the “Gravity Star” power. Thought, “Ooh, floaty stuff!” Threw it at a player… and they just… floated gently away? They popped me while drifting! Useless!

Finally Figuring Out Combos (Mostly)

Okay, deep breath. Needed a different plan. Watched some folks getting absolutely wrecked near Reckless Railways. Saw someone use the Gravity Star, BUT THEN they instantly hit the “Loot Volcano” power right after. The poor sucker floating? Got absolutely roasted by a stream of lava bullets. Mind. Blown.

Next match, I tried copying that combo. Found the Gravity Star first. Found the Loot Volcano power later near Brutal Beachline. Waited for a fight, saw two guys duking it out over some chests. Yeeted the Gravity Star – nailed one guy! Quickly swapped to Loot Volcano and mashed fire. Whole area exploded, lava everywhere. Got both eliminations! Felt like a freaking wizard!

That’s the key: You absolutely cannot just spam one power. It’s gotta be one-two punches.

Started trying other combos:

  • Tactical Auto Shotgun? Do not use it in open space. Wait til you push someone into a tight shack or corner. Then it shreds.
  • Saw the new Nitro Splash or whatever it’s called? Makes you super fast. Used it right after using the Gravity Star on myself to escape a messy fight. Got out alive!
  • Still figuring out that Energy Blade thing… keeps getting me killed trying fancy swings.

Practice Pays Off (Sorta)

Few more matches, focused purely on finding a Gravity Star first, then hunting for that Loot Volcano power for the combo. Started dropping hot zones specifically looking for these. Won a Duos match with my buddy! Used Grav/Lava combo to clear the last two squads trapped by the storm near Creeky Compound. Felt amazing.

Big realization: This season isn’t about the best single power. It’s about grabbing two powers that actually talk to each other and knowing exactly when to slam them together.

Still messing up plenty, mind you. Got ambushed trying to grab powers. Forgot to swap powers fast enough. Got stuck on scenery during a combo. Standard Fortnite chaos. But finding those killer two-power combos? That’s where the magic (and the Victory Royales) happen this season. Give it a shot.
