Okay so earlier today I got super annoyed trying to catch up on Reality Quest. My favorite site randomly stopped updating after chapter 82, and I NEEDED chapter 83 like yesterday. Zero luck finding it normally. Here’s exactly how I hunted it down free without paying those sketchy subscription sites.
The First Disaster Round
Started by Googling “reality quest chapter 83 read free” like a dumbass. Huge mistake. Clicked three different “free reading” sites that all pulled the same crap:
- First site demanded email signup before showing ANYTHING, even after closing FIVE pop-up ads.
- Second one let me see half a page then slapped a “PAY NOW” watermark right over the art.
- Third one tried downloading malware when I clicked the next page button – Chrome straight up blocked it. Noped out so fast.
Switching Tactics
Realized I had to be sneakier. Went to that one forum where people trade manga tips (you know the one). Scrolled through months-old threads till someone mentioned using web cache tricks for deleted chapters. Never tried that before but figured why not?
- Step 1: Dug up the dead link to chapter 83 from the original site’s Discord announcement.
- Step 2: Pasted it into Google, clicked the little green down arrow next to the URL, picked “Cached” option.
- Step 3: Boom! The chapter loaded as a crusty old snapshot. Had to zoom in like crazy cause the text looked pixelated.
The Golden Fix
Cache version sucked for reading on mobile though. Tried one last thing – screen recorded the whole chapter while scrolling super slow on my laptop. Worked shockingly well:
- Opened screen recording tool (just the basic one built into Windows)
- Set scroll speed to snail mode
- Captured every page smooth as butter
Now the video’s chilling in my photos app. Bit ghetto? Sure. Totally free and actually readable? Hell yes. Moral of the story: sometimes the jankiest methods save you from paying ransom for comics.
