Alright, so I gotta talk about these BG3 gloves for archers, right? You know the ones. Felt like I was grinding forever trying to find ’em early on. Figured I’d write down exactly what I did ‘cause it saved me a ton of time messing around later. Stupid gnolls…
The Rumor Mill First
Heard chatter online about gloves near the Blighted Village. Specifically mentioned Gnolls. Typical RPG stuff – kill things, hope loot drops. Sounded easy enough. Decided to scout the whole damn area first instead of charging in blind. Didn’t see any obvious chest just sitting out, so figured it had to be a drop. Annoying.
Plan A: Just Leeroy Jenkins It
First try? Stupid. Saw the Gnoll pack north of the village, basically where those Hyenas are chewing on that dead guy. Just ran straight in swinging like an idiot. Got lucky with the fight, barely. Looted everyone. Got some junk, garbage armor… no gloves. Checked every single corpse, no dice. Felt like a waste.
Plan B: Look Harder, Dummy
Took a breath. Went back to the fight spot. Scanned the edges. Boom. Found it. Sneaky little wooden chest tucked almost behind some rocks near the fight area, kinda easy to miss if you’re just hacking away. Got excited! Ran over, clicked it open… more vendor trash and a useless potion. Zero gloves. Massive letdown.
Plan C: The Big Boss Gnoll
Remembered something – that leader Gnoll, the one talking about the “itchy thoughts”? Yeah, Flind, I think. Maybe he’s the key? Needed gear anyway, so decided to clear out the entire Gnoll pack properly this time.
- Positioned Everyone First: Put Astarion up on the rocks for sneak attacks, Lae’zel ready to rush Flind, Shadowheart to the side for heals. Much smarter.
- Focused Fire: Ignored the little ones mostly. Everyone just hammered Flind with arrows, spells, sword hits. Went down faster.
- Double Check: Looted Flind’s body immediately after it died. Like, first thing. Saw a bow… some gold… BAM! Gloves of Archery! Right there in the loot window. Huge relief.
The Aftermath & Big Win
So yeah, that’s it. Wasted time the first way. Chest was bait. Killing everything is okay, but really, it’s all about Flind. Target that big ugly leader Gnoll hard, take it down quick, and practically guaranteed he’ll drop those gloves. My fighter got those slapped on right away, way better aim. Simple when you know how!
