Alright, so I totally wanted those Blade skins everyone’s hyping about in Season 3, especially that badass “Midnight Son” one. Heard you gotta grind through this Battle Pass thing. Basically, I fired up Marvel Rivals as usual yesterday morning, hoping for the best.
Step one was kinda obvious: check the season roadmap they just dropped. Went straight into the main menu and found the little roadmap button tucked away in the “News & Info” section. Clicked that, and boom, saw the Season 3 and Season 5 previews laid out. Season 5 stuff looked cool too (some sick Venom cosmetic hints), but my main target was that Blade skin NOW.
Opened the Battle Pass tab. Saw the whole track stretching out to level 50. Needed to get Blade unlocked first, which was around level 10, and then push to level 45 for the main skin. Seemed like a long haul. How to actually get the points? Basically, you gotta play. Here’s what I did:
- Played Daily Games: Logged in and just dove into Quick Play. Every finished match, win or lose, gives you some points. Winning gives a decent chunk more, obviously.
- Looked at Objectives: Went over to the challenges tab. There are daily and weekly tasks. Yesterday’s dailies were easy peasy: “Play 1 Match,” “Use Ultimate 2 Times,” “Deal 5000 Damage.” Knocked those out fast just playing normally.
- Focused on Weeklies: The weekly ones are the meaty ones. Had stuff like “Win 10 Games,” “Play 25 Matches,” “Get 50 Eliminations with Assault.” Pushed myself to grind the wins and elims specifically. You get big point boosts completing these.
- Used My Star-Lord: Saw one weekly was damage-related for a particular role. Since Star-Lord fits, I mained him for a few hours, focusing on chipping away at that challenge.
Played waaaay more games than usual yesterday. My thumbs were sore! Constantly checked my Battle Pass progress bar. Saw it slowly crawling up. Reached level 10 by mid-afternoon and unlocked Blade – step one done! His base look is cool, but that skin, man, that skin was the goal.
Kept grinding. Level 20, 25, 30… It felt slow after unlocking Blade. Focused purely on completing the weeklies for the big points. Finally, late last night, after playing probably my 20th match of the day, I saw the progress bar hit 45! Got the notification pop-up: “Midnight Son Blade Costume Unlocked.” Yes! Hopped into the character customization menu, found Blade, and equipped it immediately. Looks absolutely sick in-game.
As for Season 5? The roadmap previews look dope, hinting at some symbiote-themed gear and maybe a new character. The big takeaway? Season 5 stuff likely follows the same pattern: grind the Battle Pass through playing lots and completing challenges when it drops. If you want those future skins without paying extra cash, start stacking up your playtime now by doing your dailies and weeklies each week to bank points for the future pass.
Why do I even bother with all this grind? Seriously, after the Nth match sometimes I ask myself that. Mostly cause I love Blade and his whole vibe, and that costume genuinely makes gameplay feel cooler. Worth the sore thumbs? Yeah, totally. For now, anyway!
