My First Try Disaster
Alright, jumped into Diablo 7 tonight determined to get good with this Blade build everybody keeps yelling about. “Fast and simple for beginners” my butt. More like confusing mess for this old dog. Died to the first pack of skeletons just outside town. Felt dumb.
Started with whatever gear my previous character had lying around – probably junk mail armor and a rusty dagger. Didn’t matter. Picked “Razor Dance” from the skills cause it sounded cool. Spent an hour just clicking frantically, watching my little rogue swing these shiny blades while getting absolutely murdered by anything that looked at me funny. Seriously felt like running around naked during a hailstorm.
Stumbling Around For Answers
Got smoked enough times I finally went online. Not reading fancy guides, just digging through old forum posts where people actually talked like humans. Saw someone mention the “Shadow’s Stride” skill. THAT changed everything. It’s a little dash thing. Sounds boring, right? Wrong.
Reset my points, ditched the flashy stuff, grabbed Shadow’s Stride first. Changed my whole game plan:
- Step 1: Run up close to a monster. Sounds terrifying, and it was.
- Step 2: Hit ‘S’ key hard for the dash THROUGH the monster. Like phasing right through it.
- Step> 3: While dashing past its back, SPAM that Blade button. Almost like punching it in the kidneys as you fly by.
Died five more times practicing just this sequence near town guards. Felt stupid dashing circles around the blacksmith. But then… click, dash, spam. Click, dash, spam. Started seeing monsters drop without even turning around. Little lightbulb went off. This dodge and slice thing actually worked!
Making Progress (Slowly)
Took this shaky routine into some beginner caves. Found a blue dagger that made my blades glow green. Score, right? Every little damage boost helps when you’re as clumsy as I am.
Started focusing everything on stuff that helps the combo: Skills that make Shadow’s Stride faster, passives that give extra blade swings after dashing. Stopped trying to look cool and focused purely on “dash through, slash back”. Simple. Brainless almost. But it started working.
Key thing I learned? Blade isn’t about raw power right away. It’s about sticking to monsters like glue while dancing around them. Dash THROUGH, then immediately spin around and unleash blades while it’s confused you vanished. Never stand still. Feels more like buzzing fly than mighty warrior.
Where I’m Stuck Now
Got cocky. Pushed into some swamp area. Got wrecked hard by some fat poison-spitting frog dude. Thing just ignored my little dances and one-shot me. Felt the frustration creep back.
Also ran dry on resources constantly mid-fight. Spamming dash and blades burns it down faster than I thought. Need to figure out how to get more juice flowing or manage it better.
The rng crap loot isn’t helping. Still stuck with mostly yellows, hoping for that one legendary dagger or armor piece everyone mentions that makes the build pop. Still feels rough around the edges, fragile. Definitely not “mastered”. But hey, at least I ain’t dying to skeletons anymore. Small wins, right? Maybe tomorrow I find the magic gloves.
