So today I decided to try this Pokemon Rocket edition cheat everyone keeps talking about, because man, grinding levels normally takes forever. Grabbed my dusty emulator after work and booted up the hacked ROM file.
Getting the Cheat Codes Setup
First thing, hunted around gaming forums for actual working codes. Copied this one guy’s XP multiplier script that promised 10x experience after battles. Pasted it into the emulator’s cheat menu like so:
- Pressed “Add Cheat” and named it FAST_XP_GROWTH
- Typed in the hex values he shared: 0202494c 03e70023
- Checked “Enable Cheats” before starting
Testing the XP Boost Live
Started fresh near * with a level 5 Rattata. Fought my first wild Zubat – KO’d it in two hits. BAM! Instead of 30XP, screen showed 300XP instantly. Rattata jumped straight to level 8. Mind blown!
Took on Rocket grunts next. Their level 7 Ekans gave me 500XP (should’ve been 50). My guy evolved into Raticate before even reaching Cerulean City. Crazy progress compared to my last playthrough where grinding took hours.
Some Glitchy Surprises
Not all smooth though. After evolving three mons too fast, got this weird bug where Pokeballs stopped working. Tossed ten at a Pidgey with 1HP left – just wobbled then broke. Restarted emulator and loaded save. All good after that.
Pro tip: save constantly with cheats on!
Final Results
Reached Viridian Gym in under three hours. Charizard at level 45 swept Giovanni’s whole team. Without the cheat? That would’ve taken me days of mindless battles. Sure it broke immersion sometimes, but if you just wanna breeze through the story or test teams fast, this hack’s golden.
Just don’t complain when your Magikarp rockets to level 100 after one fight. Cheating makes things weird, but dang it gets results.
