Okay so last night I was like, hey, it’s Season 30 now, haven’t played my Monk for ages. Remembered the Inna set used to be super fun with all those pets running around, right? Pulled up my monk, saw the stash was a dusty mess. Had some pieces laying around, not full ancients or anything fancy, just the basic six set pieces. Slapped those on first, obviously.
Throwing Stuff Together
Alright, gear time. Grabbed an Inna’s weapon for the set bonus, duh. For the off-hand, rummaged and found an Etched Sigil because, well, free spells! Tossed in some Crudest Boots to beef up the pets. Needed more toughness desperately – those Greater Rift Guardians hit like trucks. Found a Binding of the Lost in my stash, thought “Yes, more damage reduction!” and slammed it on. Couldn’t find my good Traveler’s Pledge, so just used whatever random amulet with a socket I had lying around.
For skills, went pretty standard: Cyclone Strike to group enemies up, Mystic Ally for the big damage boys, and the Water rune for some freeze help. Mantra of Salvation – Agility for the dodge seemed sensible, especially later on. Epiphany for unstoppable dashing, and Sweeping Wind mostly because the set boosts it.
Jumping Into The Chaos
Started testing at GR 90. First impression? Hordes of little mystic allies rushing ahead, it’s kinda chaotic! Clearing trash felt okay, decent speed. But then… the problems hit.
- Squish alert! Seriously, even with Bindings and Epiphany up, anything big sneezed in my direction, and my health just vanished. Had to kite like crazy.
- Single Target? Painful. Bosses took FOREVER. The allies felt like they were tickling a tank. This got worse as the Rift levels went up.
- Resource Starved. Constantly running out of Spirit! Couldn’t keep Sweeping Wind up reliably or spam Cyclone Strike when I needed it most.
- Rift Guardians = Funeral Time. Tried GR 100. Got demolished. Like, instantly. Freaking Belial or some lightning dude just erased me. My damage was way too slow to kill them before they swatted me. Felt terrible.
Tried Fixing It… Mostly Failed
Was stubborn. Tried swapping some gear. Threw in an Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac to maybe spam Epiphany more. Helped a tiny bit, but not enough. Swapped Mystic Ally runes, tried fire for more upfront damage? Meh. Paragon points all dumped into Vitality and Resist All? Still folded like paper. Tried different gems – Bane of the Trapped, Zei’s Stone… bleh. Put an Emerald in the weapon for more crit damage? Didn’t move the needle enough. The core problems felt baked into the build this season.
Verdict After All This Messing Around
Honestly? For Season 30? It felt really rough. Maybe if you got stupidly perfect ancient gear with amazing rolls and super high Paragon… maybe you could push higher. But that feels like work, not fun. Compared to what others are playing, the LoD WoL setup or Sunwuko speed builds, the Inna pet build just feels sluggish and, frankly, weak. It definitely still works for farming lower-level stuff relatively quickly, like T16 or low GRs for keys, because the little pets mop up trash okay. But trying to push? Trying to take on the big bosses? Forget it. Just frustrating. Season 30 ain’t kind to this build for serious stuff. Sticking with it for pushing feels like banging your head against a brick wall. Not even god rng could save that crap. Think I’ll dust off the other sets instead. Anyway.
