Okay so I finally decided to tackle the Ritual of Anguish in Diablo 4 yesterday. Heard whispers about “epic loot” and figured, why not? Gotta see what all the fuss is about. Plus, my stash could definitely use an upgrade.
First thing I did, obviously, was hunt it down. Spent a good half-hour riding my mount around Kehjistan, eyes peeled for that ugly purple glow and the skull icon on the map. When I finally spotted one near some ruins, I just headed straight in. No messing about.
Inside, the vibe was instantly tense. Dark, spooky energy everywhere. The ritual area is basically a big circle with ghostly flames. Looks complicated, but honestly? You just gotta survive waves. Simple as that. I activated the ritual, grabbed some kind of shard thing it spawned, and boom – the gates slammed shut. No turning back now.
Here’s how it went down:
- Wave 1: Skeletons, Skeletons EVERYWHERE. They rushed in from all sides. Felt like swatting flies. Easy.
- Wave 2: Things got spicier. Bigger guys lumbered in – those lumbering abominations and some lightning zap enemies. Kept moving, dodged their slow hits.
- Wave 3: This is where I nearly ate it. Waves of ghosts that zip around fast, plus archers raining arrows. Had to blow my defensive cooldowns here and chug a potion. Got messy.
- The Big Bad: Finally, after clearing the chaff, this nasty giant corrupted knight stomped out. Hits like a truck! Kited him around the ritual fires, focused on avoiding his huge slams and ground effects. Took some time, but wore him down.
Once he crumbled, the ritual ended. Felt pretty good! The place went quiet again. Time for the Rewards! This is why everyone grinds these, right?
So, I dashed over to the ritual vessel thingy you interact with to finish. Rewards Explained:
- Bloody Shards: Got a fat stack of these – over 100 easy. Always useful for gambling gear at the Curiosities vendor.
- Piles of Gold: Not bad, filled the pouch up a decent chunk. Always need gold for… well, everything.
- A Legendary Item! This is what you really hope for. Mine was a ring. Snatched it up quick.
- Some Whispering Keys: A few extra keys to open Silent Chests hidden around. Always handy.
- A Sigil: Got a Nightmare Dungeon Sigil too. Tier wasn’t crazy high, but adds one to the collection.
But here’s the reality check folks. That Legendary ring? Pure trash roll. Salvaged it immediately. The Sigil was for a dungeon I didn’t fancy. The keys and shards are nice, but it’s not exactly life-changing gear dropping constantly. It’s decent. Reliable farming for mats and shards. A chance at something good. The loot explosion at the end feels great, just don’t expect guaranteed God Rolls every time.
Honestly? The Ritual itself is a decent challenge, especially the later waves and boss. It’s fun chaos for a few minutes. The rewards? Good for padding out your resources and giving you a lottery ticket pull on gear. Solid farming spot, but manage those expectations. Got my blood pumping though!
