Okay folks, today’s grind was all about hunting that damn Oculus in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Been needing this orb for my Sorc forever, so I strapped in for some serious monster bashing. Here’s exactly how it went down, warts and all.
First Attempt: Mindlessly Running Mephisto
Started off lazy, just spamming Meph runs like everyone says. Teleported straight to Durance 3, popped my Sorc’s blizzard on his ugly face. Did this for two solid hours straight – we’re talking maybe 50 kills? Dropped tons of garbage rares and a couple low-tier uniques like Hawkmail and Bloodfist. Zero sign of Oculus. Got real sick of those damn Council members roasting me during the approach too. Waste of time for this particular hunt, honestly.
Switching to Full Clear Chaos Runs
Changed tactics and hit Chaos Sanctuary hard. Cleared EVERYTHING – skeletons, doom knights, you name it. Focused especially on those big nasty Unique monsters and Seal Bosses. About 15 runs deep, De Seis dropped a Shako – decent! But still no orb. Respecced to Lightning halfway through because blizzard felt slow clearing mobs. Key things I noticed:
- Diablo himself never dropped anything good
- Found two Ist runes from random trash mobs
- Those oblivion knights kept silencing my merc, super annoying
The Tunnels Grind That Finally Worked
After three days of zero luck, switched to Ancient Tunnels. Teleported straight there from Lost City WP. Farmed ONLY this spot for four hours straight. Skeletons and those floating horror thingies everywhere. Kept player count on Players 3 the whole time. On the second day doing tunnels, a random champion pack near the end dropped it! Saw that glorious swirling vortex animation and nearly fell off my chair. The thing rolled pretty average stats but IDGAF – it’s mine!
What actually worked for me in the end:
- Ancient Tunnels runs at Players 3 difficulty
- Ignoring trash mobs, rushing to elite/champion packs
- Patience and not obsessing over Mephisto
Still got sore fingers from all the teleport spamming, but damn it feels good to finally hold this stupid purple orb. Happy hunting y’all – sometimes RNG sucks, but tunnel runs pulled through for me.
