Alright, so I got obsessed with farming the Sigon Set for my new Paladin. Been seeing folks run around in full sets wrecking Normal difficulty, figured why not grind it out myself? Grabbed some coffee, fired up D2R, and just went ham for about 4 hours straight. Here’s exactly how it went down.
First off, I hit Act 1 – The Pit in Tamoe Highland. Cleared the whole place top to bottom. Dropped like ten set items but all trash – Cathan’s and Isenhart’s junk. Zero Sigons. Felt like wasting time, ngl.
Switched to Act 1 – Mausoleum under Blood Moor. Did 15 runs straight. Killed every skeleton and zombie in sight. Got Sigon’s Guard off a random fallen shaman around run #8! Felt awesome – that 20% block rate is sweet. Still no other pieces though.
Took a break, then hit Act 2 – Stony Tomb near Far Oasis. Magic find was around 150% from random gear. Ran it 9 times. On the seventh run, Sigon’s Sabot dropped from a scarab pack near the entrance. Literally tripped over ’em while kiting beetles. Boots look sick with that red glow.
Got cocky, wasted an hour in Act 3 jungles. Big mistake – Flayers dropped nothing but blues. Went back to basics at Act 2 – Ancient Tunnels. Ten more runs, zapping mummies. Around run five, Sigon’s Wrap gloves popped from a chest behind Horadric Stash. Pure luck! Also copped a Death’s sash same run.
For the helm and armor? Spammed Normal Cow Level. Cleared whole zones – didn’t skip stragglers. On the fourth run, helmet dropped off a cow near Tristram portal. Armor came three runs later from Wirt’s leg holder mob. Finished the set watching sunrise through my window. Slept like a baby after screenshoting that glorious golden set bonus.
Quick takeaways:
- Mausoleum/Cows for armor/helm – highest drop rates
- Ancient Tunnels for gloves – avoid Act 3 entirely
- Stony Tomb for boots – scarabs are MVP
- Just clear trash mobs – champions drop more than bosses
Shame about the belt though – still using rare until it drops. Anyway, go kill some cows!
